One of the foundation members of Rangers International Football club from 1970 Dominic Nwobodo surfaced at the home of ace goal keeper Emmanuel Okala days back.
Okala’s house has suddenly become a mourning centre for Late Chairman Christian Chukwu, his bosom friend and colleague.
Since Chukwu’s passing, Rangers stars and fans continue to gather at Okala’s house daily to continue the mourning of the Chairman.
Dominic Nwobodo a veteran of the civil war joined the first Rangers team which featured Okosieme, Onyeanwuna, Ernest Ufele, Luke Okpala and a host of others to create the sensation that became Rangers, winning laurels soon after.
History records that in 1974, Nwobodo lost a penalty kick but later scored the wining goal against Sharks of Port Harcourt in the quarter finals of the challenge Cup of that year.
Dominic Nwobodo who became rebaptised ‘Alhaji’ after a soccer duel that saw him breaking his head and finishing the game with a blood stained bandage later retired from Rangers and got into private business only showing face when the matter is serious.
And Chukwu’s death, is a serious matter.
